The heavy fish alfredo was fantastic. next to the city and the beach.
The Aquarium for the win! . For those who know us, we love good and fine food. We've built vacations around dining experiences and have no problem shelling out the clams for some of the best meals on most people's bucket lists. . From The French Laundry finery to the delicate Omakase at Sushi Nakazawa and from the tasting menu at Oyamel to the Ramen bowl at the neighborhood soup place, we LOVE all things delicious. . I've missed it that experience of trying something different. Don't get me wrong, I have my absolute favorite foods in the Caribbean, but really crave the diversity of foods cooked in different styles (Korean, Vietnamese, Thai are among my most missed flavors and textures. . So we headed out to The Aquarium which is right by the airport and on the beach. Not because it has my favorite Asian flavors, but because we wanted the experience if what is considered one if the best restaurants here in Grenada. . We started with a clean goat cheese salad with candied walnuts, and OMG the cheese was clearly house made so good! . We sampled rack of lamb chops on a bed of pureed split peas with red wine ginger jus. This was unexpected and the flavor combinations were amazing! Cooked perfectly! . The confit duck leg bon bons with traditional plum sauces were good, but I was really hoping for crunch inside the bonbon. . The truffle fries were very nicely done, with the right balance of herbs and truffle oil. . We ended the tasting with the West Indian Beef Pepper pot, which had a nice flavor of ginger, onions, and peppers in a rich broth. . Of the restaurants we've been to so far, this ranks high on the list. . Next time we'll have to try the scallops, mussels, and curried conch!
Views are amazing!! Just incredible but it too forever to get my food. Overall a must
We didn't have a reservation but were seated almost immediately. They took our drink order and brought them to us. It was a good 20 minutes before someone asked us if we had ordered yet, which we hadn't because our server went missing. They took our order and the food came out surprisingly quick. Our steaks were delicious and cooked a perfect medium rare. The garlic bread was delicious (you better like butter garlic, which we do! . We finished our dinners and they cleared our plates. We waited for them to bring our check... and waited... and waited. After 30 minutes I finally got up and tracked someone down, who talked to someone else, and 10 minutes later we received our check. The food was great but the service was not great. I would go again, but maybe earlier in the day so we could enjoy the view.
