Restaurant Campanile Rouen Sud

This restaurant was recommended to us by the nearby Hotel B&B where we were staying for the night. We had been up very early to drive from Scotland via Dover-Calais on our journey to South of Spain. This restaurant was easy to walk to so we could also enjoy some wine without driving. The location in Rouen was good for the rest of our journey south, just off the main road. Our meal was from a very varied menu, there was a specials board and a meal of the day style menu with several choices. We chose lamb chops and a bottle of wine. The meal was freshly cooked with fresh vegetables and generous portions. For two people we paid 25€ to 30 €. The staff were very friendly and understood my French, though they were also very proficient at English. I would recommend stopping for a meal here, either off the road or if staying in the area.

The new menu has a very poor selection, not very much choice compared with the old menu which was just fabulous. Not the fault of the hotels but whoever decides what the restaurants must serve.

We ate at about 7/7.30, two adults, I just had the cheese board which was OK as it came with bread and a nice green salad €7 . My wife had one of the specials (chicken) and this came with a decent portion of veg and potatoes. We had one dessert, a bottle of water, bottle of wine and two beers and it came in at about €40. The place was very quiet for a Friday night (one other family) but comfortable and service was good. Not that impressed with the menu overall but what we did have was good. One last tip it does close early, I think 21:30 is last orders.

A part l'amabilité du personnel rien ne va.Chambre avec ménage fait "à peu pret" mais pas en détail. Mauvaise isolation donc on entend tout les bruits aussi bien les voisins qui parlent que ceux situé à l'étage au dessus. Compliqué de dormir dans ses conditions.Bonne literie en revanche.
