After reading reviews for this place on TripAdvisor, I was keen to try this, especially since it was away from the centre of Saint-Emilion, so it would be a bit quieter from the hustle and bustle of other tourists. It was a hot day, but my boyfriend decided to sit outside (which luckily had umbrellas for shade), otherwise I would have preferred to sit inside with the air-con! The view from the outside balcony is beautiful!!! There is a range of amazing galettes and crepes for dessert. I chose the 'Lancelot' which has potatoes, goats cheese, ham and onions. Yum yum yum! My boyfriend chose the 'classic' which had emmental instead, as it was part of their lunch deal, which includes a crepe with jam for 11.90. The galette came quickly. Our jug of tap water was refilled a few times since it was a hot day and the waiter also brought out extra cutlery as he said that I should 'help' my boyfriend with his dessert! The service was friendly and attentive without being 'in your face'. A really enjoyable experience.
Whilst visiting this most amazing village in France we were suddenly struck with a pang of Crepes! After asking a few of the locals we were pointed in the direction of Le Troucher, and oh my goodness were our pangs satiated! We were lucky as it was out of season, otherwise I would imagine you would need to book a table. The owners were friendly, busy and seemed happy to be serving their amazing food. The crepes here are huge and the savoury ones are just as good as the sweet! Our meals were washed down with local wine and coffee and everybody left with stuffed bellies and smiley faces! We will be back for sure!
If you wish to pay 40 Euros for your meal in St Emilion there are plenty of places to do that in the town! For a nice French meal at reasonable prices this is the place. Away from the total madness of the crowds in the centre of town. There is a small Terrace out the back looking over the rooftops of the town. Crepes come in all shape and sizes; there was even a Duck Burger made from Crepes. Dogs allowed inside and on the Terrace of course.
Only 50-100m from the village centre and the more heaving restaurants but far enough away that a lot more chilled. Not large but can get busy as a small kitchen churning out lovely crepes. Huge choice and good drink list + Breton cidre! Small terrace but inside is lovely.
Just a quick "put stop" visit for a shared chocolate & pear crepe which was delicious with some coffee. The young male waiter (sorry can't remember name!) was very helpful. We sat on the terrace at the rear. Good value in a rather expensive tourist town.
