Magpie's - Saint Charles

I've been here several times and, although I don't have any pictures of the food, I can say that I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the experiences I had during both lunch and dinner. My favorites include the baked brie, the salads, and the crepes for dessert. If the weather is nice, I highly recommend sitting on the terrace. It's a great place to visit and enjoy at your leisure.

This charming and cozy café offers a delightful menu featuring sandwiches, salads, flatbread pizzas, and pasta. The small space creates an intimate atmosphere, and the food is delicious. The waiter was friendly and attentive, which added to the overall experience. Make sure to save room for dessert – or better yet, enjoy your lunch and indulge in something sweet afterward! I highly recommend the chocolate powder brownie or the cherry cake. The terrace is also a wonderful spot to relax!

I visited this restaurant as a child and always wondered if it would still be as good as I remembered. I'm back now and decided to try the quiche that left such a fond impression on me. I'm happy to say it was just as delicious as I remembered! I currently live in Texas and haven't had the opportunity to return to Old St. Charles until now. I can't wait to come back next time!

This is my second time, and both were 10/10. We did the honey pizza and it was so good! It is a 40-minute drive for me and pain in the back park, but so it is worth it! The first time I went on a cool day and they had fire everywhere and it was the perfect atmosphere. I couldn't say enough here!

Gave this place 5 stars at one point. Not any more. Has absolutely gone down hill. Unfortunately it might have only been because of the server we had. Server was awful. Waited on the 3 tables that came after us and consequently we waited quite a bit longer for our food yet we were the rest table to receive of check, even though we hadn't even finished. Food was not as good as it has been. Music was lovely as usual. What a shame. It has been such a great place and we visit often but this experience was terrible. We won't be back for awhile. Hopefully by then they will regain the great staff they had. Disappointed.
