The place is fantastic, not only the wine cellar and bar but also the villa nearby and the park, with First World War related memories. Luca was a very friendly host who showed us the premises and the vineyard, and offered a tasting. We bought several bottles of both red and white wines produced there, including Terrano, Sagrado, Refosco and Malvasia. They also have a very tasty olive oil. Recommended.
Went on a Sunday afternoon to buy a dozen bottles of wine. I only saw the bar, which is nice and cozy. The barmen-attendants were not particularly friendly. Anyway they let me taste a few wines. You pay the bottles a few euros less than in a wineshop.
Impressive location on top of Carso hills with an old villa which can be borrowed for events. The garden with a view on wineyards and reminescences of the first world war is great. The cellar and the wines you can taste here are one of the best of this area. For high level events. Enjoy.
I tested the restoration of this company for a working lunch, with a large group of colleagues (about forty). The service was well organized and fast, and above all the food was appreciable. The meal was served in one of the barchesse (barns; as the service buildings of the ancient villas of the Veneto area are called) of a villa; barns that have been rebuilt after they were destroyed during World War I (the war front was right here) It was a lunch not complete, but light: cold and hot appetizers, pasta with salmon and cream, dessert. Superlatives and this is to be expected wines: Cabernet, white Collio, finally Malvasia. At the end of lunch, the management has led us to visit the fascinating underground cellar, carved in the karst soil strarting from the ground of an ancient tower. This ground was discovered accidentally by owners so we have been told during the renovations works. Suggestive also the garden of the villa, which is situated within the estate, with centuries old trees; while we observed the villa itself which was spared by the war, and that seems splendidly restored only from the outside.
