Jariya's Thai Takeaway - SAFETY BAY

Oh, goodness we should have done our homework before purchasing the voucher.

How nice to find a restaurant in Perth that is consistent and consistently goodIt isn't a Western interpretation of Thai food for a change.

Went here to go for dinner but as the place looked horribly uncosy and not even clean we decided to change that to Thai takeaway.

We ordered through menu log. Last time we ordered it was 21/07/17. So here we are not even a month later. It was awful. Below is what we ordered and the issues. Pad kee mao - noodles were all broken and soggy. It's a chilli noodle dish but so hot it was not edible. We eat A LOT of chilli. This was ridiculous. Pad Prik (chilli) - beef was so overcooked it was like eating cardboard! Flavour was ok. Chicken satay - so dried and overlooked they wouldn't come off the sticks. One stick was almost half the size of the other two. Pad Thai - soggy noodles and the lid that had Pad Thai written on it was not even that dish...it was the pad kee mao. Thai beef salad - $18 for cabbage that's past it's used by date, soggy old tomato and lettuce that is the core piece. Beef is tough and just a small amount. Complete rip off! Was the most expensive dish we ordered and it was terrible. Not to mention nothing like a "Thai beef salad!!!!"Tom Kha Gai - nothing like a Tom Kha Gai!!! Was warm coconut flavoured water. About 4 pieces of chicken and huge pieces are inedible ingredients. The galangal of it was that...was in huge strips and took up most of the room in the soup. When we got it in a small round take away container. There was about 1cm of flavour and you could see the separated coconut hot water/milk. All in all, both times meals were not delivered on time. I understand it gets busy but we ordered before the shop was even open. Waste of $85. Extremely unhappy! We actually attempted to order on Tuesday as we enjoyed our meal last time. Opening hours say they are open but they were closed. It is rare for us to give a bad review about any restaurant but this time we felt we needed to.

Authentic Thai takeaway! Massaman Lamb was delish! Beautiful home-made spring rolls & money bags... You have got to try the stuffed chicken wings (not sure of authentic name).... yummo! will definitely be back
