Oishii Sushi And Grill - Sacramento

The best sushi in the 916 area. Many places come close, but in my opinion, it's nearly impossible to surpass Mikuni's. I find myself craving sushi only from there. The owner, Taro, is a passionate Sacramento Kings fan and has great relationships with the players. He has even created signature rolls for two stars—DeMarcus Cousins and De'Aaron Fox. Both rolls are fantastic and among my personal favorites. It's a wonderful place for a lunch date and also perfect for a romantic dinner with your partner. The quality here is consistently excellent. The servers are friendly and well-informed, and the wait is never long—though it hardly matters when the food is this good! One recent favorite of mine is the Benjamin roll, which has a delightful spicy kick reminiscent of a Mexican fusion dish. Also, don't miss the Puff Daddy appetizer and their crispy gyoza. I've never had a bad meal here, and I believe you won't either if you give it a try!

We placed our order over the phone, and I appreciated that they have a designated take-out parking area, which is helpful since the restaurant is located in downtown where parking can be challenging. I didn’t go inside, so I can’t comment on the ambiance, but based on my overall experience, I would only give it three stars due to the food quality relative to the price and the parking convenience. In my opinion, I’d rather go somewhere else where I could get sushi at a better price, perhaps with similar quality.

I can't get enough of Mikuni, no matter which location I visit. Their commitment to quality and freshness is unwavering. My favorite is the bento box with sesame chicken and blanched asparagus, served with their spicy zigzag sauce. Their spicy edamame is always a hit, and the California rolls are fantastic too. You don’t have to be a sushi lover to enjoy this place. By the way, Steve W, I just read your review about the chopstick issue. I use chopsticks, but I occasionally prefer a fork to scoop up all those little grains of rice. I've never had any trouble getting a fork. Just saying…

Mikuni's is consistently one of my top picks for both lunch and dinner. It's an ideal meeting spot for catching up with coworkers and friends. The ambiance is lively adding to the fun atmosphere. The customer service was great as well. Although I'm not particularly fond of sushi, their Sesame Chicken plate is my go-to, and it always leaves me with leftovers to enjoy later. Don't miss out on their Key Lime Motto, it's a drink worth trying!

Always a great place. Live energy, great decor, open space, Sac games are always on. First time sitting upstairs, go to the bathroom first (it's dwnstrs). When ordering sushi, service is usually pretty quick. But everything came out fairly quick, with a packed house on a Friday. Server gave great recommendations. Freaky Brussels were devoured!! A punch of flavor and crispy. The sesame chicken was dipped in tempura. So crispy even with the sauce. Will be back to try the ribs and more rolls. Thanks Mikuni!
