India Oven Sacramento

I've never been a big fan of buffets, but they are budget-friendly and the kids were hungry. I appreciated the variety, which included South Indian dishes along with classics like Tandoori chicken. However, the buffet was relatively small, and many of the items were too spicy for my little one, which limited our options. Additionally, some dishes don't hold up well over time, such as bhatura that can be light and fluffy when made fresh. The first batch of chicken was dry, but the second batch was much better, so don't assume that arriving early guarantees fresher food. The palak paneer was quite tasty, but it’s not enough to bring us back.

The waiter struggled to understand my order. I requested a substitution, and since they don't have a no-substitution policy, I thought it was a reasonable request. He consulted with the cook, who supposedly agreed, but when he brought my dish, it wasn't what I had ordered. I asked him to take it back and bring me the correct dish. When he returned, the cook had merely added a sauce to the same dish he had initially prepared. Although the food was edible, it was odd and not at all what I had requested, and I wouldn't consider returning.

The buffet offered a great variety of well-prepared dishes. However, there was only iceberg lettuce available for the salad, which was a bit disappointing. The table service was attentive and efficient throughout our meal.

They are very busy. I told the staff I had used Open Table to make a reservation and they acted as if they had never heard of Open Table. They kept asking if I had called them to place my reservation..Other than that, the food is wonderful and well worth the price. They work hard to make sure you have a positive dining experience. I will return again for lunch.
