Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Customer service was excellent. The food was ok. The star was the pancakes. So buttery and delicious. Will try again if in the area again.

Today September 13, 2023. 5:30 PM the misses and I were driving by the restaurant and noticed there were only a few cars in the parking lot so we decided to stop and try it for the very first time since it's opened. It seemed like every time we drove by during dinner time it was always full and we didn't want to wait in line outside in the sun. So today was the day. There were nine people seated in the dining room when we walked in. Noticed two waitresses. Ours was very pleasant and very polite. Got our menus answered our questions. Our waitress kindly answered the questions regarding food allergies. The waitress seemed knowledgeable but forgot to ask a few questions so we ended up with our food not realizing that our burgers had no condiments and there were no condiments at the table and we had to wait halfway through our meal for her to come back so we could ask. We both had experiences with extreme season salt on everything (geesh! . I did order the loaded hashbrown casserole tots just to try them as they looked good on the menu. But within a couple bites my ankles began to swell from the excess salt. I sent them back. She took it off the tab. By the time we're done we were just remiss in our decision to try a cracker barrel. We thought we'd take a stroll through the country store. It reminded me of a truck stop with snacks and games and all kinds of imported items to buy. We have been to cracker barrels before but it's always been in the Midwest and our business travels. They always seemed to feel like home kind of that country kitchen feel, the greasy spoon from back in the old days and the country stores had local country made items. Seemed this store was full of made in China labels. Sorry I just gotta give this a one star. It was my first and last time. Maybe that's why there were so only nine people there at 5:30 PM on a Wednesday night.

They have really good food and service. But wish they would stay open longer in the evening. Also wish we're open earlier.

To say the least, I was not impressed. The chicken was over salted, mashed potatoes were glue, and last, but not least the green beans were canned. The waitress forgot our part of our order.
