Love, love, love this place. The real deal Japanese food. I've had their tempura combination, chicken curry, teriyaki bento box, and now their tonkatsu ramen. Everything I had was delicious! However, my friend ordered the spicy tuna roll and she said it was too hot spicy, more than she's used to. But she almost ate it all because she said it was delicious. So still good but be forwarned. We ate in the back room where I had never eaten before. Very spacious. Typical, a couple people speaking Japanese, made it more authentic! Our combination tempura had shrimp, sweet potato, zucchini, broccoli, and green bell pepper.
Love this place especially when it comes to the Ramen. I was more of a pho lover until I met Akebono. Deliciousness is the only way to describe it! Sushi is great too you won’t be disappointed guaranteed!!!!
I went here on weekend lunch and it’s so packed. I had donkotsu ramen and my husband had sashimi combo. Although it’s weekend, they have lunch menu. Ramen was so flavorful. I like their cha sue in the ramen. Usually cha sue has it’s certain meat smell but they don’t have! I like this donkotsu the best in Sacramento. Sashimi is also fresh and good. Casual atmosphere and family friendly.
GIGANTIC portions, fresh fish, great service, great for large groups, ok prices. Chicken Catsu Curry: it was a HUGE DEEP bowl enough to feed 2 3 people. The curry was delicious and chicken was beautiful and fried and crispy. Only the complaint was that the potatoes and carrots were big, that they would have cut off more and it would have been easier to eat. Salmon lovers roll: five THICC slices of salmon with a Ichiro roll awesome deal. The salmon was really fresh. Roll had a little too much sauce and it insecured the taste of the salmon, but otherwise very satisfying. Rainbow roll: Tempura inside was a nice touch. The fish was fresh and it had a decent amount of pieces. Chirashi bowl: a dish of delicious fresh fish. I wish the ginger was a little softer and sweeter because it would have been easier to eat. If you first board, there is a small seating area with sweet salmon steak pillows. The entire restaurant is large and there is a second seating area on the back. Large parties should have no problem here, but always good to make reservations. There was a child who, besides us, played roaring sounds from his iPad. His parents gave him no headphones. I wish someone did something about it. Otherwise you can not go wrong with their fresh fish options and expect the plates to be big!!
