Spotted Cow - Ryedale

We visited with friends and family after a meal in Malton and it wasn 't busy ... they turned the heater on for us in the lower room and there were folks having a great time singing along to a sound system in the main bar. It 's a quaint rather 'higgledy ' building and has lots of atmosphere, with clean toilets and a reasonable variety of drinks on offer. We didn 't sample the food and it doesn 't have it 's own parking from what I can see you park in the local streets which could be tight depending on the time of day.

The make over of the Spotted Cow has not improved it. It has lost some of its old charm. It is still a good pub but please, no piped music, especially 1950's crooners.

Looks like the owner is posting his own reviews again, when I ate here it was anything but great! No chef, the barmaid cooks your dinner, may as well have stayed at home. We so many excellent places in Malton to choose from, the up coming food capital! Don't opt for undercooked meat overlooked veg, yuk!

Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! Fantastic Sunday roast every time we visit!!!!!! Great atmosphere in front of the fire!!!! You can’t beat that anywhere in Malton!!!! Lou, Rory and the team are just the best!!!!!!

Recently visited The Spotted Cow, what a fantastic pub. I had not been in for some time but had that it was under new ownership so thought I would re-visit. The pub has been lovingly restored and has been hugely improved since I last visited. It is immaculately clean and the staff are polite and professional. I noticed that they are now serving Sunday lunch so look forward to trying that soon.
