Buck Inn - Ryedale

This was the best Sunday roast I've had in a while. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. The exterior may not be the most appealing, but the interior is quite elegant, and the food is amazing. If you enjoy a good Sunday roast, you won't be disappointed.

During our weekend stay at Keldy, we decided to dine at this restaurant on Saturday night. The food and service were both outstanding. All four of us had starters, mains, and desserts, and we were all impressed by the quality of the food. This is not your average pub food; it's more like high-end restaurant fare. The pub itself is charming, with friendly landlords who made us feel welcome. We enjoyed it so much that we booked a table again for Sunday evening. We can't wait to visit again next year. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality and delicious food. And bonus points for being dog-friendly!

On arrival at this cosy pub we were immediately made to feel welcome, the fire was lit and the staff could not have been more friendly. We ordered a meal. My husband had the pie, which was delicious. I was delighted to see belly pork on the menu and was impressed by the review and the appetising photo left by a previous reviewer. Unfortunately, I don't think my meal was cooked by the same chef. The pork was flesh coloured on top, and the crackling was so tough it was inedible. Sadly I felt the whole dish was not cooked well and lacked flavour. This meal would not put us off returning to this gem of a pub, we wondered if the regular chef was not working on our particular visit, as all other reviews seem to love the food served here.

Five friends, we were staying at Rocklands Lodges just over half a mile away. This was the nearest pub and it had good reviews so we walked down to it and we were so glad we did. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. I’m coeliac so the waiter showed me the allergen menu and explained everything very well. The food was fabulous. We were not expecting it to be so good, it was very good quality and we were very happy with the whole experience.

Great Sunday lunch . Attentive staff Dog friendly . On holidays , I asked on local Fb group for recommendations, this got most mentions and we weren’t disappointed.
