I would have been better off taking a match to the $541 in the parking lot and turning back home. It was a splendid 65 degree evening when we sat for dinner. The electric heating lamps above us were set to broil . It completely ruined the whole ambiance not to mention the environmental waste of unnecessarily heating an outdoor space. I asked our server to turn them off and he checked with the manager and turned it down. This was complete eyewash, as the element continued to bake my head. I had to get up and walk around the restaurant to prevent me from passing out from the heat. I removed a layer of clothing and my dinner companion requested a different table. We couldn 't get out of there fast enough The food was off in my opinion. The lobster was sharply dominated with an onion sauce. The beef pave was smothered in a brown sauce (prime beef properly seasoned and cooked requires nothing else . The sorbet was the winner of the night. Service had long gaps and they were sold out of the wagu by 8pm, so there 's that. I don 't mind spending good money for a good experience, but this was torture.
Good place, nice view Delicious food. Weekend Brunch Course The portion was bigger than I expected so I was very full. good view Hilltop hotel and restaurant overlooking Napa Valley vineyards Brunch course is good value for money friendly staff Detailed explanation and appropriate recommendations I wanted to sit on the terrace, but it was drizzling and I was told not to do so due to the weather. When the rain stopped and the sun came out, I asked for a seat outside again, but they refused. You have to sit on the terrace to fully enjoy the view. When making a reservation in advance, you can specify a terrace seat. Depending on the weather conditions, you may not be able to sit on the terrace. The brunch course includes a welcome drink. Sparkling wine, dessert wine, and rose wine are available. The rose wine is made at this hotel’s winery. I saw it right away. It is a fragrant rosé that is not sweet. Bread and butter are provided. Choose three items: appetizer, main, and dessert. It may seem like a small portion since it is 3 courses, but... Each menu has a large amount and is sufficient. Rather, the amount of dessert is excessive. Coffee must be ordered separately and charged... Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Probably the worst Michelin starred restaurant we 've gone to (and we seek them out in every city we 're in, it 's how we choose our restaurants). The view is tremendous, but the food was sub par, far below expectations. Our steak was a flank cut, very tough and fatty. The pasta appetizer was fine, but it was basically just pasta and cheese. Hard to mess up. The desert was peaches, and the peach itself was fantastic you didn 't need to add anything else. But they added a weird sauce and some additional items that actually took away from the super delicious peach. We drove our EV car to the restaurant, and they don 't have regular parking, only valet. I mentioned that my phone is my key, so they asked me to give them my phone, which I didn 't want to do. They then took the phone and put it in the EV...why would you put the only key inside the car? What if it auto locks? Solidly half the cars in the parking lot were EVs, so it 's wild that the valets seemed to be completely thrown by the whole situation. I asked them to give me my phone back, and they 're like, it 's in the car . I 'm like, ok, do you want to go get it? And they 're like, no, you get it . They 're literally a valet and they 're the ones who took the phone. Why should I go fetch my car for the valet? While I was dealing with the issue with one valet for ten minutes, another valet was chastising my five year old, who was mentioning how he likes the doors on his EV. The valet then snorted and mentioned how a McLaren has way better doors . Does he know a lot of families of four who drive around in a McLaren with four suitcases? Why would you argue with a five year old who is excited about something? So it was a solid ten, fifteen minutes arguing with valets over nothing particularly, followed by a sub par meal at high prices. Not a great night. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
One Michelin star? Let’s be honest, you go there for the view, the food is meh. This restaurant is located at the ultra expensive resort Auberge du Soleil located in the hills. Views are amazing. We were only able to get reservations for lunch. The lunch menu is obviously different than the dinner menu. This review is for the lunch we had. We had a seat outside by the fence overlooking the valley. They gave use a bowl of pistachio and almonds. We got the still water which is Evian. Ordered the calamari and tomato lobster soup. The calamari came with some sauce that’s a little bit spicy. A little too salty. The tomato soup with lobster was meh. I ended up using the soup as the calamari dip. Had the margarita pizza, I’ve had better. The side of sauté mushrooms were pretty good. The steak was meh, I can make better steak at home. All in all, underwhelming lunch from a Michelin rated restaurant. Was expecting more. Would not recommend. Not even for the views. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
