Coffee was nice and we all enjoyed our meals. The croissant French toast was delicious and had a great combination of flavors and textures. Will definitely be back!
Absolutely love this place. Makes me feel like I am in Daylesford. The food and service is excellent! Have been there quite a few times. Only negative was that I ordered a serve of scones and was slightly disappointed with the pricing. 2 small scones with small jar of jam and cream for $11.90 which is expensive given their croissant with ham and cheese is only $9.90.
A stunning peaceful place with the perfect scenery and warm ambiance. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and presentation was Devine. <br/ <br/ Service was good but little improvements would make it 5 star. For example serving sugar with coffee, having salt and pepper on tables and not having to ask for things. Tables tucked around the corner at the outside dining is a little forgotten so it’s important to have a waiter continuously around those areas for better service. These are little teething issues when you first open up a restaurant. <br/ Other than that, it was fantastic. Take the time for a walk around the homestead and enjoy its tranquility.
We’ve been several times to the restaurant. Food and service have always been fantastic. They are opening a courtyard cafe in a couple of weeks so looking forward to that. The space looks charming.
What a gem in the burbs! Beautifully restored old homestead with touches of modern style, choice of several areas to be seated, the two inside rooms, the veranda surrounding most of the building, and outdoor area with umbrellas or a couple of private rooms for pre-booked groups. Food wise there are some wonderful choices and quality is high although not the best Melbourne has to offer, but fairly close to quality expected for the price. I’ve been there twice, lunch and afternoon tea. Service is friendly but they’re a little short on staff meaning it’s hard to get their attention at times. One gripe, the coffee came out below the ideal temperature, one cup was returned the first time as undrinkable, second wasn’t much better and I had to drink that quickly. I doubt the machine is at fault but more likely they don’t preheat the cups, use the wrong cups for the coffee style (double espresso) and take too long to collect and bring it to the table. One last suggestion- for a quality restaurant and cafe that has had millions of dollars spent on it the staff could dress a bit better than black jeans and cheap sport shoes. But all in all a winner and worth a visit.
