Not only did they make spectacular food but they were also the most likable people anyone could possibly have had the opportunity to meet. Words cannot express how much of a loss this is to our community. I am so sorry to you all as SV and for those who have both loved and not had an opportunity to experience such an excellent restaurant. So many thanks to you all at Spice Village I hope that this is not the last time.
In between a 3 and 4. 4 bc my husband would go back again Aloo gobi is good. The manglore fish is really good. Tandoori chicken is great and so is the goat biryani. Tiny place, smaller portions, everyhting on paper plates and no frills, but I think the prices don't really reflect that. So a little off on price/value.
I 've been wanting to go to this place for years. Everytime I drive by, I wonder what it 's like. The other night we finally went. It was 1 hour before closing on a Friday night. We walked in and the smell was wonderful. When the owner came to take our order, I said Whatever it is in smelling, I want that. He said it was Chicken Tikka Masala. The taste didn 't disappoint. It was truly delicious. We also ordered Goat Biryani and Garlic Naan. Both were very good. Since there was only one other couple in there, we decided to change our order to go so they could clean up and get out of there early. They packaged the food well and wrapped the packages tightly in plastic wrap to ensure nothing spilled and everything stayed hot. They have a lunch buffet on the weekends. We will definitely go back to experience that so we can taste everything on the menu. I can 't believe it took us so long to get there. I 'm really glad they survived Covid.
I ordered the butter chicken, samosas, goat curry, and garlic naan. The goat curry was one-dimensional in flavor and was not impressive compared to other places I have been to locally. The butter chicken tasted like creamy taco seasoning unfortunately. The garlic naan was soggy when I opened it, but maybe that was due to the drive home coupled with wraps in parchment paper and tin foil. They do give great portions for what you pay for, the samosas were fairly good with the mint chutney, the goat was tender with delicious bone marrow, the butter chicken had tender and flavorful tandoori chicken mixed in it, and the garlic butter on the naan was great (best eaten fresh I guess).
Outstanding food! Generous portions! They never disappoint. Have been going here since they opened.
