Even better than the tacos was the service. The gentleman behind the counter (owner? was friendly and making jokes with everyone as he took their order. Speedy' is a place I would easily recommend to anyone wanting a quick delicious meal.
Friendly, family-owned. I decided to stop here after getting my car registration done, once hearing that they had terrific breakfast tacos. As it was 11:00 I opted for lunch. This place is very small, if you plan on having more than four in your group plan on sitting at different tables. You walk up to the counter to order, their menu in nice big print over the counter for those of us that are sight-impaired. I told Speedy that this was the first time I had been there and asked his recommendations. He fixed me a combination plate of enchilladas, hard taco, rice and beans. I had it as take-out so I had a little bit of time to look around this tiny place and noticed all the lovely family photos around. Speedy came from around the counter and introduced his family in those photos. Very friendly, warm atmosphere. Took my food home and found it very good. The beef in the enchilladas was fresh and seasoned, the rice was cooked just right and when you put the salsa on it tastes very good. The beans were not like regular refried beans, which I liked (also added the salsa and some sour cream to them). The taco was something else. Stuffed to the brim, nice cruch (not like some flimsy taco shell) very tasteful. I wish they had put some more cheese on it though. I will go here again. The price for this meal was only 5.92.
Really awesome breakfast tacos here and get to meet speedy himself !
Rating for Speedy Tacos. Speedy Tacos is one of those places you learn about either by word of mouth or by accident as their location is partially obscured by trees. Their generous sized tacos are made to order and rather quickly, however it is a popular place on weekends so there will usually be a line but it is worth the wait. The place is staffed by very friendly folks, especially Jesse and his son Gregorio who have time to smile and chat with customers even though they might be very busy. Ok, so much for the staff and the location, now let's move on to the food because that's the reason we go there right? They have breakfast tacos, regular tacos, and street tacos, all are excellent. There are fish tacos which i have not yet tried but when i'm in an adventurous mood, well then i will try one. They also have plates if you are hungrier than usual and they are not small, they could fill me up and that is not always easy. That would be enough yet there's still more. If you or someone in your group is in the mood for a burger and fries, well they have that too and it is a good burger, made fresh, not like the franchise joints which are so predictably mediocre. One other thing i like, the Jarritos sodas from Mexico. I like them because they have that old fashioned taste as they are sweetened with real cane sugar and not the corn syrup and to me that is important. If i had to reduce a description of this place to just a few words, i would name it, TexMex, TexMax! Trust me, i have been here in Double R (Round Rock) for 31 years plus and i know a good thing when i see, or rather, taste it. I give this place 5 stars and i don't just give away my star ratings. Thanks for reading this, E Upton
Good breakfast tacos. My favorite breakfast tacos in the round rock area. Need to try lunch sometimes I guess
