Auberge Quintessence - Roubion

I think it is important to share my experience on Google in order to inform other travelers. After a lovely snowshoe walk on the trails of the Col de la Couillole, we wanted to have a chocolate in this place called quintessence! It was very bad for us because we were able to enter the establishment without any problems, but I had just paid the 10 euro bill for 2 bad milk chocolates! a mastiff came towards us very threateningly, probably to come and fight with our young Bernese mountain dog who was on a leash! the owner, not content with apologizing, instead preferred to insult me and pushed me violently making me lose my balance, (I am 63 years old) he chased my partner and me outside! I would like to express my extreme disappointment with the supposed high-end quality of the establishment. The director's approach is more of a petty crime; I hope this can help people reading this to make informed decisions.

Probably one of the most amazing place in the area. The chalet is located in top of a mountain, in a peaceful environment with almost no trafic at all. The hosts are the ost welcoming persons in the world and always keen to help if you have any issue. The food is great, and you can definitely tell the passion of the chef coming out from each plate. I would definitely recommend for a romantic night, a celebration or just to relax around a good dinner in the middle of nowhere. We didn’t’ have the best room but the beds were comfortable. Nothing to complain about.

We came last weekend to your little paradise! A real delight for the taste buds and at all levels. We celebrated our 1 year of marriage excellently see you very soon I hope! Congratulations to the chef and the whole team refinement at all times, creativity in the dishes offered with local products worked with originality... we will be back!

This magical place, located in the heart of Mercantour and run by a family of enthusiasts, offers you divine cuisine well worthy of a Michelin star for an unbeatable quality/price ratio (for your information, chef Christophe Billau has already had the star and for For me, it deserves it much more than some restaurants on the edge of the Côte d'Azur!!! . We have never been disappointed and the setting is super pleasant. We feel really good in this restored and super well appointed inn!!!
