The Oak Room At Tylney Hall

After hearing great things about The Oak Room, we were eager to try it out, and for the most part, we were not disappointed. There was a hiccup upon arrival as they seemed to have lost our reservation, but once that was resolved, we received excellent service from the pre-dinner drinks in the lounge all the way through to our meal in the main dining area. It was a nice touch that, upon discovering it was my wife's birthday, they served her dessert with a birthday message while the pianist softly played "Happy Birthday." The food was just as impressive as the service, making for a very enjoyable evening that will definitely encourage us to return.

We had a delightful and leisurely lunch. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the quality of the food was outstanding. After our meal, we took a stroll around the gardens, which are currently in full bloom. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience in a beautiful setting.

I never criticize staff for being busy in a restaurant's fast-paced environment, but every single member here made us feel at ease. The entire dining experience was relaxed and beautifully presented, and the staff demonstrated extensive knowledge about the menu. We were celebrating a special occasion, and it truly felt memorable. We arrived early to explore the grounds, and I highly recommend doing so. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to see everything we had hoped to before our reservation, but we’ll be sure to allocate more time next visit.
