We stopped off here thinking we would get a light lunch for us adults my 3yr old. Wished we hadn’t bothered! There were no kids options whatsoever the staff weren’t helpful in providing any options other than a scone or a tea cake. I asked if they could just do a cheese sandwhich but that wasn’t possible. There is a cheese ham toastie on the menu, so I asked for it without the ham, but that wasn’t possible as “they are already made up” My hungry boy had to make do with a scone some salad crisps from my plate. Also no kid friendly drinks available. I ordered a vegetarian sausage roll was given pork!! So it just went from bad to worse. And we were given cutlery that was so filthy it didn’t even look like it had been washed at all. A terrible experience, very disappointing!

I visited the restaurant on May 27th and was very disappointed to find that only cakes, scones, and tea cakes were available. I was told to order at the counter, but noticed that some people were receiving table service. This establishment has had a good reputation for many years, but it is no longer worth a visit.

I have been a patron of this restaurant since it first opened and the experience is consistently enjoyable. I have visited three times this summer for lunch or tea and cake, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. I look forward to returning again, most likely later this week.

The restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food they offer. There were limited options for cakes during our visit, just like our previous experience. If you are vegan, don't bother as they claim to cater to you but never have any options available. We won't be returning.

We have been a fan of this cafe for many years and supported them during lockdown. Unfortunately we were most disappointed with our visit today. The normally friendly and courteous staff seemed harassed and unhelpful. The menu was limited and uninteresting and the food itself was bland with small portions. Quite frankly we did not feel welcome and couldn’t wait to leave. We will not be visiting again!
