Bexhill Farm Kitchen - Rother

This restaurant serves the best sourdough bread in the area. It is much lighter than what you would find at other quality bakeries. Don't mistake it for the inferior bread sold by supermarkets - this bread is worth every penny. The seeded sourdough and wholemeal varieties are especially flavorful.

I recently hosted a small gathering at my home before my father's funeral and ordered sandwich and cake platters for 8 people from Kirsty at Poppyseed Bakery in Bexhill. I left the details up to her and was not disappointed. The platters were ready on time and nicely presented on 3 trays, ready to be served. The sandwich filling selection was fantastic and the cake selection had been cut into smaller bite-sized portions, which was perfect for our gathering. Kirsty was quick to respond to phone calls or emails and the staff in the shop did a fantastic job preparing the platters. Thank you once again.

Now known as Poppyseed, was Farm Kitchen. Excellent pies, cakes, sandwiches and breads to take away. Steak pies full of meat, chicken and mushroom pies, curried slices, pasties, almond croissants; all very good and a huge range of sarnies freshly made. If you visit Bexhill with youngsters, no need to sit in a cafe with squirming young uns buy your picnic here, have it in Egerton Park, just 5 mins away. Busy at lunch but prompt friendly service.

Always a friendly service given by all the staff. Good produce available daily. Great cooked meats salads and good selection of bread and rolls etc.

Nice deli selling home baked pies cheeses and lots of yumi things has been in the town for a good number of years i would highly reccomend a visit
