Przekaż informację zwrotnąAfter hard days shopping, where better to stop than just outside Coles for a cup of coffee. We saw they had a deal of coffee and cake for $6ish. The service was nice, the delivery was a little slow, but they were busy, and the cake/coffee was worth waiting. We sat at the tables in a busy atmosphere of a busy shopping mall, but it was nice. Then go home to get the shopping away.
I have visited this café several times and decided to check it out again recently. The café is situated in the Newton Shopping Centre on Montacute Road. There is street parking available, plenty of indoor seating, easy access, air conditioning, a good variety of cakes, and friendly table service. The only downside is that the dining area is quite exposed to the passing foot traffic. One staff member, Mr. Michel, stood out to me in particular. When I requested a cappuccino with extra foam and a unique design on top, he jokingly mentioned there might be an additional charge. My drink arrived with a creative design that was meant to resemble a boxing kangaroo, but ended up looking more like a seahorse. I appreciated the effort and humor in his attempt.
Michels is located in the bustling Newton Shopping Centre, making it a popular choice for a quick morning coffee rather than a romantic outing due to its busy atmosphere. The restaurant offers a wide selection of cakes, pies, pastries, and drinks. The service is friendly and efficient, with orders brought directly to the table. Signs proudly display Michels as the winner of the Best Coffee Shop of the Year award for the past four years, a recognition well-deserved in my opinion. My only complaint is the size of the portions, as seniors may prefer smaller snacks. Overall, Michels is a great spot to meet up with friends.
We have enjoyed good coffee here a few times, but......decided to take home some meat pies recently for later. (beef). Absolutely awful product. The meat was full of gristle, and virtually inedible, with very ordinary pastry. Obviously products differ at the various franchises, but we will not return.
Michels sits in the heart of the busy Newton Shopping Centre. It is a popular eating place with many tables and chairs, and with pedestrian traffic on all sides. Hence good for a busy morning coffee rather than an intimate rendez-vous! There is a fine range of cakes, pies and pasties, as well as drinks. The service is friendly and efficient with orders delivered to the table. Signs proclaim that Michels (the chain, I assume) has won the Best Coffee Shop of the Year award for the last four years. Well deserved, I suspect. My only niggle is the size of the portions. Many people enjoy large serves, but in my experience, seniors normally prefer smaller snacks! A good place to meet up with friends.
