Despite reading negative reviews about the restaurant and concerns about staff mistreatment, I was pleasantly surprised by the fast service, delicious food, and hospitable owner, Frank. None of us had any complaints about our meals, and I particularly enjoyed the marinara dish. I will definitely return and provide an updated review if my experience changes.
We ordered the antipasto plate for starters, followed by linguine marinara, salmon, and a children's chicken schnitzel with chips for mains. The food was delicious, with authentic Italian flavors cooked fresh by Frank himself. The chicken schnitzel in the children's meal was particularly impressive. Although the wait for freshly prepared meals was a bit long, it was definitely worth it. I recommend ordering an appetizer if you're in a rush, or even calling ahead to place your order. Frank may be a bit quirky, but he is a kind and generous man. We had accidentally left something behind at the restaurant, but Frank went out of his way to personally deliver it to us at our accommodation across the road. If you choose to dine at this restaurant, go in with an open mind and you'll have a truly authentic and personalized dining experience. Thank you, Frank. Grazie.
I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality at this restaurant. Our party of four shared the antipasto platter, which was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their main dishes, especially my dad who is a bit of a food critic. He said that his seafood linguine was the best meal he's had in a long time. Even though the interior of the restaurant is a bit outdated, the excellent food more than makes up for it. I would recommend dining here if you have some extra time to spare, as the service can be a bit slow. I would definitely come back again in the future.
Had dinner with friends and the food was just great. Frank the owner recommended the antipasto as an entrée which we loved and the mains were divine. They did run out of beer after 2 rounds which was a little surprising. The service was slow and patrons need to have plenty of time, but we did and had a very enjoyable evening. Will definitely be back for more of that Italian home style cooking. The tortellini was just terrific.
Read some reviews, all good. Then read some reviews elsewhere on a previous location the owners had their shop and many reviews weren’t as good. Some complained on very long wait times for their food, friend and I assumed it couldn’t be that bad so thought we’ll give it a go. Booked a table for 2, were seated immediately. Then waitress informed us she’ll be with us in a minute. We waited for a short time and then started to wonder where the menus were. Or any offer of drinks. Nothing. Not a busy night as it’s during the COVID 19 pandemic so only limited amount of guests. We continued waiting and watched on as they all happily served other tables with guests who were already eating/had already eaten. Exactly 30 minutes later from being seated, no menus, not even water on the table to drink, and no sign of waitress. We got up and left. Went to another restaurant, were seated immediately. Orders taken, food brought to us, dessert bought for takeaway and meals paid for, all within 40 minutes of walking in. And the food was fabulous and filling. Much better than a 30 minute wait just to be completely ignored.
