Auberge Saint-Hubert - Roquebrun

A delicious lunch as usual. This is one of our favorite restaurants and it never disappoints. Nice food, well presented and eaten on a cool terrace

We arrived on a busy Saturday without a booking. The waiter ignored us while he served a table. When he came over, his expression was not inviting, more “what the hell do you want?” I asked in French if they had a table for two. Most tables on the terrace were full with the exception of a table for two (in the sun it was 32 degrees) and a table for four in the shade. He pointed to the table for two. I refused and said we could eat there. I asked in French if they had air conditioning: No. We went in anyway, and there was a huge fan in the middle of the room, so we moved across one of the tables. We were not allowed as they were all tables for four people and were directed to one table for two that was far away in the corner. I was inclined to go in this phase, but it was so hot out and we were hungry so we decided to stay. Our favorite waiter came with a menu board and went through the options Formule Entree, Platte; Entree, plate, dessert; Entree, Dessert, as if we were idiots. I asked him to repeat how the salmon was booked and he looked angry. His expression seemed to show that we were something unpleasant that he had just found on his shoe. When the food came Moule fries for my husband and salmon for me it was good, but in no way did it in the rudeness of the waiter. My salmon fillet was full of large bones at least six and salmon is not a difficult fish to bone out. By the way, none of the other tables were occupied inside the whole time we were there. Maybe the fan is just for the staff. Not a pleasant experience thanks to an extremely rude waiter.

Good service, inexpensive but high-quality food. Beautiful relaxed atmosphere with good views in summer from the terrace.

Popped in for lunch whilst staying pretty much next door. Friendly welcome and attentive service. The waiter joked around with our three year old and kept him amused throughout. Food was lovely....its a fixed menu for both lunch and dinner but lovely choices......Salade Landaise delicious...(found out later it was duck gizzards....tasted great), tuna and steaks perfectly cooked. Fantastic creme brulee to finish off. Wine was cheap by the bottle or pichet. Free water and bread. Would highly recommend it.

I realize this is the only 4 star review this restaurant has received, but at the end of the day it is all about the food .
