Very close to the colosseum metro station. Loads of street sellers in this area trying to sell anything from bottles of iced water to sun umbrellas. Walked into Squisito and got a seat. Had a couple bottles of water and a couple of pizzas. The water was €4 each but I guess you are paying for the location. The pizzas were ok. The waiter made a big point of asking for a tip after the bill came.
Let's call a spade a spade. Your are NOT paying for the food you eat, you are NOT paying for outstanding service. What you are paying for is the ability to eat gelato in the shadow of the Coliseum (the seats are on the other side but would not properly showcase the Coliseum . The food is average and that's ok, they are very busy with local foods and tourist stopping through. I saw someone else lambast them for thier prices, without thinking about operating costs near a UNESCO site, rent ain't cheap. If your on a budget, walk a few blocks north and there are plenty of places to eat. But realise this place is about your ambiance and they know they can get American tourists to tip, (which is not required in European customs. All in all, a nice little place for an evening view of the Coliseum.
We had the best Aperol spritz of our italian trip, and with an amazing view !! prices were ok too, which was appreciated a lot
Nothing special. Waiting for our tour. Stopped for quick bite and drink. Server was disinterested. Panini was hot
