Pizzeria Il Gladiatore - Roma

We chose to eat here as we were tired, hungry and hot after visiting the colosseum. We both went for the €16 burger, drink and dessert deal with a hamburger and a chicken burger as we both fancied a break from pizza and pasta! The burgers were okay but the chips were horrible and tasted like they’d just been reheated. The dessert we had no choice in and it had to be a panna cotta which wouldn’t have been either of our first choices but we thought we’d give it ago, this wasn’t great either. We then asked for the bill and waited but never got it so went up to pay. When we got the bill and paid the €16 each plus a €2 charge each for what we believed to be service, the waiter was rude and annoyed that we didn’t leave a tip saying that the extra €4 on our bill was just for the table and service was not included. As we hadn’t really enjoyed our meals, we didn’t want to pay any extra on top of the €4 we had already paid. We wouldn’t visit again and would prefer to go that bit further for something better, especially for the price.

Average food, good service, above average view. That's why they can get away with service average food--when you sit outside, you're just across the street from the Colosseum. I figured I wouldn't get great food, but I was starving after the Colosseum and didn't want to walk any further without sustenance.

We came here to eat pizza which were nice however, the coffees we ordered were horrible, weak and expensive. €3 for an espresso and €4 for an americano. Cover charge €1,5 per person and water I think it was tap), €4 for one litre. Watch out with what you order!!

Went here for some lunch as it was a great location. Asked for a candle with the dessert as it was our daughters 3rd birthday, the candle did not disappoint it was like a rocket launcher. Thank you for a memorable experience, we will be back.

Decent food with all the Italian classics you 'd expect from a restaurant next to the Colosseum. They certainly serve a lot of tourists and they take advantage of it with pricing and extra charges (coperto, etc. making their way onto your bill.
