Osteria Da Salvatore - Roma

It's a very good, simple, non pretentious, small family restaurant. The food is freshly cooked and the taste is good. The service is ok, non formal, made by two ladies. It's more than perfect place to have lunch or dinner in the area for an insignificant price, compared to the average in Rome. For all the tourists who don't like it, I suggest to go somewhere else and pay 25-30 € per person, or just go to Burger King.

Had the 12 euro menu and got home cooked pasta, follows by meatballs and then some fruit, plus 0.5l wine, bread and service. Great value and a nice family feel to the place.

Strange little place probably more for locals. But very good value and handy for our hotel across the road. Worth a visit for the eccentric serving staff!

First off we stopped here because the offered a fixed course meal and inexpensive. My wife ordered the chicken and I did the meatballs. It comes with a drink of your choice. My wife had a beer and I had wine. The first course was delicious. I had spagetti and it was well served and my wife a salad. The tomatoes were unreal and so good. The second course was great too. Topped off with a fruit dessert in its own juice. I have to comment that I was expecting a glass of red wine. I got like half a bottle. This is a family owned restaurant and I would greatly reccomend it to those who are in town.

I tried this restaurant just this evening since other restaurant in the area is full. There are two person dining in and it is a good idea to sit in since it 's not very crowded, or so I thought. I 've ordered the set menu (3 types with a drink) worth 12 euros because the waitress gave that menu. I 've ordered the Spaghetti with bacon and tomato (Note they also have Spaghetti with tomato on the menu), Omelette with Cheese, Cooked Vegetables and Coca-cola for the drink. They gave me the Spaghetti with tomato only (nothing else on the pasta except for the cheese which is obviously all spaghetti have). I didn 't argue anymore cause the waitress doesn 't seem to understand English much anyway. The taste is decent enough. After I 've finished my Spaghetti, the second plate came with Cooked Vegetable and Omelette with Cheese. Upon seeing the vegetable, I 'm almost sure I can 't eat it. And yes, I tried but my taste buds can 't take it and it doesn 't smell good too. It was overcooked and I don 't know what kind of vegetable is that since its poachy/soggy. The cheese in the omelette is terrible. I didn 't finished the second plate. Maybe it 's only 12 euros 'cause it doesn 't really taste good or it doesn 't taste really good 'cause it 's only 12 euros.
