Everyone now knows bubir, the best kebabbaro of audine and not only. one of the first to open up in the city more than ten years ago, bubir became loved by everyone. for his friendliness and other waiters, for the abundant portions, for the goodness of his kebab. kebab is made with soft bread, you can choose between pork or veal (or both and is stuffed with tomato, salt and potatoes! beautiful but at the same time with a delicate goto (always you do not decide to water it with the chili! the place is also to take away. If you prefer, you can get your kebab inside the club, on one of the red stools at the counter or at the tables. this is the option I recommend, even if the local is spartan, but it deserves to join at least once the meal at the cheerful atmosphere you breathe here: Arabic music with high volume and a continuous go of people, in what is the most European neighborhood of the city, traditionally inhabited by many immigrants but increasingly loved also by the Friulians.
The gym in our hotel was out of service so we decided to come here to for a day pass (20€ for gym only). Laura was very welcoming and showed us the entire facility: they have rooms for callisthenics, cardio, free weights, machines, stretching basically everything you need. Even a cafe where you can have some shakes and snacks after. Thanks Laura!
I had the most terrible experience at Doria today after first coming to look around the gym as I was interested in the yearly membership, the nice lady from the reception (Laura) who showed me around and spoke very good English offered me to come for a trial day before deciding for the yearly membership, which is standard procedure in all nice gyms in Rome. I even called a day ahead to confirm my trial day and asked if a colleague (who's also interested in the yearly membership) can come for the trial and they said of course and gave us an appointment. On the day we were welcomed by 2 (quite unfriendly) ladies at the reception who wanted us to get a day pass and even said they're doing us a favor because they're giving us a discount. All of this happened after THEY voluntarily offered a trial day a few days before. All to say is that they lost 2 potential long term members today in 10 minutes. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Given the extortionate gym prices in Rome, this was relatively decent. The equipment wasn't too bad either given the price and location, numerous machines and locations specifically designed for each muscle group. Weights however are somewhat limited. Dumbbells maximum are 40kg from what I could see. The CrossFit section had max 10kg plates (I used this area for deadlifts). Recommend this gym if in need for a workout
