The Kitchens - Rohnert Park

This place is essentially three cheap food trucks smashed into a warehouse. The staff are pretty dispassionate. They're all students, so they don't really care about their jobs (understandably so). Don't come here if it's out of your way. The only way they can justify it's existence is by forcing freshmen college students to eat there. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

If it's your first time, it's hard to find. There are no signs or advertisements outside at all. The Kitchen's inside the building. But it's worth the search. Great food. Lots of it. All you can eat! My favorite place to eat on campus! The common kitchens that first-year students can use with their meal plans also accept payment and Wolf Bucks. Each kitchen offers a different type of food: Flames specializes in hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, Passport serves a variety of ethnic dishes, Etcetera has fruits and desserts, and occasionally (my personal favorite) to-go sushi. There’s also Chef's, which offers traditional breakfast and other meals, along with a salad bar. There's one more place I can’t quite recall. The kitchens post their monthly menus on their website, so you can check in advance if you want to venture out or eat at the kitchens. One of my favorite memories was when the menu online promised chocolate chip pancakes for Friday, only to find there were none available. I politely asked a full-time staff member if the pancakes were coming, and he explained there was a mix-up but offered to make me fresh pancakes if I could wait ten minutes. I watched him prepare them from scratch, and they ended up being much larger than the usual ones! I can’t wait to go back and enjoy those chocolate chip pancakes again. I also love that most of the staff are students themselves! It’s always nice to visit the kitchens and see familiar faces and greet everyone!

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant over the summer. The staff was fantastic, and the food was delicious. I would rate everything a perfect 5: the food, the service, and the atmosphere all exceeded my expectations.
