The Thirsty Bull - Rocky Mount

They don't have a working phone i've tried calling to Verify that karaoke is tonight and it rings once then hangs up. From someone who is from out of town we rely on actually hearing it from the venue so Fix That Issue!

Great food, great service, great prices. Don't let the name for you. Not a dive bar with a riding bull! :D

Friday night around 6:15 we arrived only one patron in the restaurant. After he left we were the only ones eating. A few folks drinking and listening to the band outside. After the food arrived I understood why they were drinking outside with the band. This place came highly recommended by a person I trust. Guess we just hit a bad night. Maybe the bull got too thirsty ?

The place was not busy….at all. It took 30 minutes to get my burger. It was way over cooked and wrong. Didn’t tell me until after the fact that they were out of part of the ingredients and the fries were barely cooked. Very rubbery and greasy AF. The beer was cold and the waitress was very attentive and polite.

August, 2022. This is a fill the tank restaurant, if you 're really hungry and just need something then this will do. It 's not the best food. I 've been cooking all my life and I could whip up a much better dish with fresher ingredients, much more flavorful, and in much less time. Plating was messy and not appealing at all. Not colorful and very little filling . I ordered The Bayou pasta with peppers and Onions, very finely diced and very few of them. House Alfredo was near flavorless and very runny. Chicken was ok, but bland and sausage was just cheap kielbasa. Another person in my party ordered the steak, this was the saddest steak I 've ever seen. Extremely thin, no marbling, and nothing to make it look appealing. Overall 2/5, because the staff was honestly great and pretty much on the ball, but don 't come here expecting a meal to talk about. I 'd recommend going to LouRedas right across the street, they are definitely a 5 star restaurant and I think that 's why this place isn 't doing as great. Just improve on the food and that would be great. Thank you for serving us though.
