It was a nice experience, certain food dishes could have been cooked a little better. All in all, it was good. Not great, but good. I think our crowd was a bit more than they were used to serving at one time, so I'm willing to give it a second chance.
It is a nice, new, and clean place. Atmosphere was good. The buttered rolls were great! I had the prime rib pork...it was a slow roasted portion of pork loin. It was good, just not knock your socks off good, like I was expecting. Maybe my expectations were too high... my wife had the fillet, it tasted burnt but wasn't....they used the same sauce on my pork....that's not right?! The pork belly appetizer was great. Salads were good. I hear their crab cakes are good. I want to try it for lunch.
Went here as part of a large group; although we had submitted the order in advance, nothing (aside from the table) was ready when we got there. Although the restaurant was supposedly closed for our private event, the one waitress on duty had to stop serving several times to fix drinks for people who had wandered in from the golf course. Even though this is the South, I was surprised that they did not offer unsweetened tea; however, considering the quality of the tap water, this was probably for the best. My meal was not worth the wait...the customized grilled chicken sandwich I ordered was lacking in flavor, the tomatoes were pale and mealy, the honey mustard tasted like neither, and raw red onions had been substituted for pickled red onions. The sweet potato waffle fries ranged from floppy to charred. At least the place was clean, and the sanitation score was high.
I'm so disappointed in this restaurant. My husband and I have been frequenting this restaurant for the past few years .We always like the fact that we felt elegant when we went there. It wasn't just another restaurant. They had white linen tablecloths, a menu that had some unusual choices on it and service that was excellent. But it's been about right months since we were able to dine there and things have changed. The elegance is gone. No more tablecloths. Instead we had paper placemats. The condiments (sour cream, butter, salad dressing) were in plastic to-go containers. The menu was the same old menu that you find at the local restaurant chains. I had the signature dish, Belmont Chicken. I could do better at home. It was a grilled chicken breast with sauteed onions, fried bacon and shredded cheddar cheese melted on top. If I'm going to eat out I want it to be something I can't make at home. We did have excellent service. But there is no fabric in the restaurant so the sooner are deafening. Conversation is impossible. It was just an all around big disappointment!
