Curry Express Indian Bistro - Rockwall

I usually feel hesitant about restaurants that have "express" in their name, but this place serves some truly delicious Indian food. We've just moved to the area and have dined at a few upscale restaurants, but Curry Express is far superior to anything we've tried so far. The spices are perfect; they taste incredibly fresh, which makes me think they might grind their own. My husband has suggested trying other restaurants, but I’m not interested! This place is simply too delicious!

I'm not quite sure how to rate this place. The staff is consistently friendly, and the food is delicious with generous portions. However, the cleanliness of the facility is a major issue. If you try to imagine you're at a local restaurant in a country with lower standards, you might overlook it, but here in Texas, I would expect the health department to at least enforce some basic cleanliness. Things like keeping boxes off the ground, ensuring that dirty clothing and other items aren't left in the hallway, and that restrooms are well-maintained should be a given.

Modest place that covers the basic North Indian staples. Good for those wanting a quick takeaway on their way home. Spice levels can be customized upon request. There are three lunch combos each with an incremental overladen serving spoon. The termBistro is probably a nod to some socio-economic group but has no relevance to an authentic use of the term.

Big pieces of chicken. Tasty curry. Generous serving. Agree with other reviewer that cleanliness (restroom area) needs improvement

I’m quite selective when it comes to paneer tikka masala, but theirs is fantastic and just the way I prefer it. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. I’m really grateful to a friend for recommending this place to us!
