Honeygrow - Rockville

Great food, quickly prepared. The concept seems simple, but I've never tasted something quite like this before. As an extra benefit, it preserves its taste well with short-term storage, so it's the perfect takeout to get if you want to have a meal several hours later or even next day. Sometimes they forget an ingredient (sauce, avocado), so be sure to check your bag before you leave. To their credit, when I came back because of missing sauce, my order was refunded.

Got the Sesame Garlic bowl. The steak was weak. Really had no taste, and was tough. It reminded me of the meat used in cheap frozen dinners. Overall, a bland experience.

Read below: there’s a big “but”.I friggin LOVE honeygrow salads. I’ve had like 10 in the last few months. Today I was sooo excited to eat it and they completely omitted the most flavorful parts of the salad: cheese and dressing! I even paid for EXTRA dressing. I was so disappointed. I didn’t get to eat it until I got home… ???Why? Just why?

I forgot all about Honey grow until I was visiting my mom in Rockville. I had them years ago and remember them being more of a healthy salad place. But tonight I had their garlic chili stirfry with shrimp and it was soooooo good. My husband had another one of their stirfrys and he also enjoyed his meal. Delicious, especially for a fast casual place! Everything tasted super fresh!

I’ve visited this location twice and am happy with the taste of their food and quality of ingredients. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was welcoming, hip, and clean. However, I am in agreement with others in regards to the portion size. The dine-in chicken stir fry and cobbler honeybar I ordered on my first visit were smaller than anticipated, and my take-out order was somehow even smaller. It was a bit disappointing to pay $14 for a side-sized take-out box. Overall, I would recommend to try this restaurant for its unique flavors, but be prepared for smaller portions (especially if you get take-out).
