Samos Fish and Chip Shop - Rockhampton

Just felt like some fish and chips so walked down and ordered and got my meal all within 10 minutes. when I went to pick up my order I asked if it was mine as it seemed way bigger than I expected. Definitely my order I was told. Got back to my apartment and found a large piece of fish with a nice light batter that had been very well cooked and my $3 serve of chips was enormous!! Ate as much as I could and still had more than half the chips left over. Chips were cooked to perfection as well. Very happy customer .

Yes, the batter is a bit heavy handed, but that is the way my hubby LOVES it. He loves their crumbed fish (always nice and thick whilst nicely cooked), their battered savs, their battered chips (especially on a sambo), and their home made potato scallops. Yes, it might not be the best thing for you health wise, but once every couple of months is a treat. Chip servings are great as well. We've also had this for lunch when friends have come over (their request), and it was a great share meal. This place is always popular and busy, so they must be doing something right. P.S. My poor hubby isn't a big fella, and he does normally eat good food, but as I said, this is an occasional treat.

Damn...What is with all the positive posts ..This place has terrible fish and chips ...If these are the best in Rocky ..Then I feel sorry for you guys .The chips are a greasy crunch shell ..Lots of the chips stuck together ...The fish all though not bad ..The batter was greasy and crunchy shell ..Not the nice crispy outter and soft inside batter of a good fish shop . The potato scallops were more of the same crunchy grasey over cooked shell batter . The reviews here are misleading and make this place out to be a great fish and chip shop....I will continue to look for a better place in Rocky ...Give this place a miss if you want a good feed...

Brilliant chips, very popular place to have a quick bite, the chicken salt on the Samos chips is to die for, highly recommend to try it

This place has the best chips ever!!! Generous serving size too. Fish is amazing and great value. Awesome tasting fish and chips for those on a budget. I never go anywhere else.
