Red Olive - Rochester

I had lunch here today, and it was fantastic! It's been way too long since my last visit. I ordered the saganaki, spanakopita, and lemon rice soup. I really missed this meal! I would highly recommend it!

I absolutely love this restaurant! They have an extensive menu, and everything I've tried has been delicious. Their salads, coneys, and breakfast options are particularly great. A while back, Grubhub canceled an order for us, and the owner or manager personally delivered it to our home. Today, we encountered a mistake with a carryout order and called to request a credit for next time. To our surprise, the owner brought us the correct order to my workplace! We frequently order takeout from Red Olive for lunch, often with numerous customizations for our group. Almost every time, our order is perfect, and they always go above and beyond to make it right if there's an issue.

We were the only table in the restaurant, and the waitress forgot to place our appetizer order. Not a huge issue. However, she then served my parents the wrong meals. When she finally brought out the correct dishes, one of the chicken breasts was still frozen in the middle. Instead of taking it back, she offered a discount for the inconvenience, saying it was her mistake. At that point, she was wearing AirPods and seemed completely indifferent to our experience. No manager ever came to our table, and we had to request that the problematic meal be removed. It was incredibly frustrating.

The food was ok. I couldn't believe my food came out with a face. This was hummus with chicken. My coworkers enjoyed the red olive omelet.

My family eats here often. No complaints, they're food is consistent, fine service, nice atmosphere. The best thing is their amazing omelette deal! They make excellent omelettes and they're only $5 Monday- Saturday until 11am!
