I 've tried it at Toast Box and Wee Nam Kee and loved it at both restaurants--so when I ordered it at Laksarap I expected something as great but saw average. Laksarap offers a variety of affordable, appetizing, and filling comfort food with good service I 'm even surprised they don 't ask for service charge). Hainanese Chicken Rice, however, remains a staple and a bestseller of many who go there to eat knowing it 's a Singapore-themed restaurant. The set meal is complete with the usual chicken broth soup, steamed chicken broth rice with onions, which mixes well), and white chicken. And the usual 3 sauces, except they have liquid seasoning in exchange for oyster sauce : I would still recommend that you give this a try, especially when you frequent the area. I haven 't tried their noodle soups, but I heard they 're also a favorite of customers.
Not bad for the price. The make-your-own-laksa is a great concept, allowing you to enjoy Singaporean food your own way. I opted to have the coconut milk-based soup with the egg noodles plus a slew of other ingredients including beef and bean sprouts. It cost over P200 but was well worth it since the serving is large (good for two). I was pretty happy with the laksa that I made for myself. The soup is reminiscent of the real thing. Other items to try are the char kway teow, nasi goreng, and the Hainanese chicken rice. Both are good for sharing and very filling.
I am really not a fan of Singaporean dishes but I gave Laksarap a try. Basically, it's still a soft opening so I would understand the noise. It's a new place so I think people still doesn't know about Laksarap. My friend and I ordered different meals. She ordered a make-your-own laksa while I ordered Singaporean fried rice with 3 pcs. of spring rolls. The serving size is quite big so I wasn't able to finish the whole thing. The fried rice has a lot of ingredients but it's too oily and it lacks authentic flavors. I'd give it a try some other time
I went here for lunch on a Friday. I like the fact that you make your own laksa and choose what ingredients you want. They can also adjust the spicyness to your preference perfect for someone like me who loves laksa but doesn;t like it too spicy. I highly recommend the pork and squid ball curry laksa and the fried wonton. Overall nice flavors, generous portions and value for money.
