Every staff member, from the bellman to the beach team, went out of their way to make us feel special. A special mention goes to Jan, the beach host, whose kindness made our fantastic beach experience even better. We will definitely be back soon!
The property was quite impressive. The food at the restaurant was exceptional, though the service was somewhat slow. The pool and spa areas, along with the Tiki hut and bar, were clean and well-maintained. The front desk staff were friendly and very accommodating. However, the timeshare sales team was quite aggressive, as they called our room every day, even waking us up at times.
I've been to this resort ten times over the last eleven years, and I absolutely love it! It's currently being renovated, which adds to the excitement.
I had a truly wonderful experience! My fiancé arranged for us to stay in a two-bedroom suite while our friends were visiting Boca, which made for a perfect two-night getaway. The welcome and valet teams were outstanding, and our room was spotless. We really appreciated the view from room 1700, and the soaking tub was a fantastic touch. The happy hour was quite generous, and if Rod is your server, consider yourself fortunate—he was genuinely kind and helpful to everyone. I couldn't resist the hot pretzel with beer cheese sauce appetizer, indulging in it both days! My only suggestion would be to create a drink menu for the larger infinity pool; it felt like a missed opportunity to highlight their amazing cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Upon our arrival, we were disheartened to discover that our room did not resemble the one advertised online. The much-anticipated view was nonexistent, which set a disappointing tone right from the start. Our letdown only grew as we faced a multitude of maintenance issues: a broken washing machine, a malfunctioning kitchen sink faucet, a faulty lamp, unsafe blinds, and a dresser drawer that collapsed, injuring my son's foot. To add to our troubles, the room was uncomfortably cold due to a lack of heating, and the valet staff seemed surprisingly unfriendly. Despite our attempts to request a room change, our pleas went unheard, leaving us stuck with these problems. The hotel’s response was equally unsatisfactory; although a front desk manager offered to refund one night’s stay and waive our valet parking fees, these gestures felt inadequate given the extent of the issues we encountered. Communication with hotel management was nearly impossible during our stay. After reaching out several times, we learned that both the hotel manager and director were out of town with no indication of when they would return. This absence of leadership during such a critical time only added to our frustration and made us feel neglected and undervalued as guests. The lack of professionalism was evident among the front desk staff, who brushed aside our concerns, particularly regarding the valet service, which is managed by a separate company. Additionally, we faced confusion regarding available services like laundry and even had a beach attendant trying to charge us for items we hadn't ordered, further exacerbating our disappointment. In summary, our experience at the Marriott Singer Island failed to meet the standards of quality and service we expected from a well-regarded brand. The hotel's inability to address our concerns or provide a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment for our family is truly regrettable. I hope this review serves as a warning for others and prompts hotel management to make the necessary improvements so that no future guests endure what we experienced. Overall, our stay was characterized by poor service, unmet expectations, and a lack of responsiveness, leading us to give a one-star rating. Future visitors should be aware of these potential issues when considering a stay at this hotel.
