We ordered the shrimp and beef tacos and they were so good I had to give credit and write a few words. Cocktails were great. Mojito was not too sweet and the rum and coke was perfect. Thank you for a really nice dining experience Cali Aji we will be back again.
I had tried this restaurant one other time a couple of years ago, after returning from Colombia, not so good. After having the Latin dish 'Sancocho ' at another Latin restaurant in Tampa where it was amazing, I decided to try it closer to home. Mistake. It tasted DEFINITELY not fresh. Nothing on the plates were fresh. The beef was very dry and hard to chew. Only thing good was the Aguila (Colombian beer) michelada. Not sure how they have a 4.3 rating. I 'd skip the food. Maybe their pastries are better, no idea.
The food was just disgusting. I ordered the paella and what a mistake that was. The seafood was SO OLD. It was hard and so salty. Sorry but you can tell this was recooked and just nasty. The shrimp, and other seafood, if that's what you want to call it, was hard as a rock! I'm Latina and this food is embarrassing. I used to come here and it was better than this. What happened? Not going back.
This was our second time here. The first time was a great experience, but unfortunately I left disappointed this time. The tacos were boring, expensive, with mostly lettuce and not much meat. The meat was not very flavorful either. Two tacos were almost $9.00! The Jalapa fries were good but seemed better the first time with more sauce. A lemonade was $3.50 which seemed pricey as well. Service was slow and our waitress was hard to understand. Worse for me was the price discrepancies.. the money said one thing but the recipes had a higher price. Fortunately our waitress fixed it but seemed odd that happened to begin with. I was not impressed with the Cuban sandwich either. I don’t know what happened from our first time to our second, but don’t think there will be a third ?
After a 10 hour shift, all I wanted was to have a good meal to go , but I ended up so disappointed. I regret paying $18 for a little piece of thin churrasco that I asked for it to be pink, and it was like rubber, with just 3 little tostones and soggy fries. Also, $13 for a little dried piece of chicken breast with only 3 little yuca fries and bottom hard yellow rice. A total of $37.76, I should have gone somewhere else.
