My wife and I got up and left, told the hostess why who looked at us like we were crazy. There were only 3 other tables inside with customers and 2 tables outside with customers. Really?
I recently moved close to this place and my first TakeOut was clams with white sauce, it was perfect just like I make it and came back several times for more. About 6 months ago I purchased same and when I returned home it was like someone dumped the pepper shaker into it. I couldn’t eat it. Call restaurant nothing was done…no credit nothing. I ordered again after new owners and it was worst! Absolutely no favor, no seasoning or garlic real or flavor, just oil and at the bottom of spaghetti and clams sitting on top! No herbs at all. I’ll never return…save $20 and make it yourself!
My group of nine decided on Rio station to bid Anna farewell to Orlando, fla. Service was slow. Like we had to wait an hour for our food. Ice water with lemon was very good. My sandwich of bbq pork with a too sweet, commercial tasting bbq. Sauce , grilled on Texas toast with American and cheddar cheese was an unmitigated disaster. No real taste of pork, not much meat, no real taste of anything.I am heartbroken that Mr. Piggly wiggly had to sacrifice his life to be presented as a bbq. Pork that has no resemblance to the real thing. Sacrilege! My Caesar salad was served Luke warm when it should be served cold. Dressing was decent, but that does not make a true Caesar. Croutons were soft and slightly stale, when they should have a crunch. My party reported the turkey clubs were good. But the French fries were not. How do you disrespect french fries, unless you use bad oil, overcooked or undercook the respectable spud?Cole slaw had no flavor and was not finished.Another diner reported a bacon, lettuce and tomato on white bread, un toasted, with avocado, served as wheat bread, darkly toasted, with no avocado. Her corn chowder was described as watery.I did try half a chicken salad sandwich. Not bad, but I can make that at home. The cheapest sandwich, at 13 dollars, the bbq. Pork grilled cheese was not cheap. And not good. Our waitress, never checked on us during our meal, and never asked if we needed anything, or asked how were enjoying the food.Maybe she already knew?If you go, and I rate this as a no go, stick to a turkey club or burger. And bring some antacids to go with the French fries.
Stopped in for a late lunch during vacation in Wildwood. Firecracker shrimp wrap and the white balsamic dressing were amazing. Emily was a sweetheart and attentive server. I rarely review, esp. as soon as I leave and we’re barely out of the parking lot.
No sooner did my glass of wine hit the table... my appetizers, soups and meal all showed up at once. Felt very rushed. We have been coming here for 8 years. We love Surfing Pig , but Rio Station is our favorite spot every year we come down for Spring and Fall. New staff needs more training.
