Oro - Rio de Janeiro

If google allowed me to give them 10 stars, I would. during our visit to rio we sang in several Michelin restaurants. oro was by far the best meal, service and experience without doubt. we had a good time sitting in front of the kitchen from the cook. we need to see them in action that was really cool (highly recommend if possible to ask) the service was attentive and they have always checked for us. eating was amazing! I loved how they were several dishes from different origins like brazil inspired, asian inspired, etc. we were really so happy with the experience and would recommend everyone to visit rio to eat in oro.

Solid kitchen, clear, in this 2 michelin star restaurant. we had the big tasting menu and asked for a pescatar version and had no problems at all. if they do not speak Portuguese, they will also offer them information in English, but when they speak Portuguese, it is a better experience obvious. the tasting menu comes in the form of some smaller ones (for their hands,) which are delicious and tiny. then comes their three “main” dishes that they choose from a smaller section of the menu, and finally one desserts everyone. it was a little disappointing not to taste all the different desserts, but I guess that's the way they set up the menu. we had not the wine pairing, but decided to have dinner with cocktails. bartender was great to take our order – based on the tastes and styles of alcohol we liked, and then he made drinks. the only problem was that the drink service was a little inconspicuous. my glass was a few times empty and stretches the time, and that's just not with some of the other 2 stars experience meelin I had.

The Michelin stars are in the narrative of oro, where they emphasize local aromen, but also brazil culture and history. they borrow from European and Asian styles to create something really innovative. highlights for me were the miniature tuna temaki, the slowly baked pig with apples and the Brigadeiro animals that the waiter explains are the Brazilians as children. Although I went in the middle of the pandemic, they made sure that the experience was not uncompromising while respecting all safety guidelines.

Wow! what a great experience! eating is absolutely delicious, each dish was made with the best ingredients and high attention to the details. we took the smaller tasting meal, with two main courses and could hardly finish the dessert. I will remember this place for a long time!

Really amazing! Me and my wife went here for lunch and it was perfect! Excellent flavours, perfect bites and very friendly service. The price is in our opinion really fair, you really get your money worth's! Most dishes had a slight smokey element to it, we really like this, but perhaps it was in to many of me dishes. But even with the smokey elements all the flavours were in perfect harmony! I would highly recommend it! The design of the restaurant we also really like, it is small and therefore intimate and cosy. Again highly recommend!
