The dinning is fabulous in their beautiful gardens. The view of the Neisen is amazing! My favorite part are the play areas for kids. They have a trampoline, swings, and climbing areas. It's nice to have the kids play while the adults relax and chat over a bottle of wine. We always take a car here, but I have noticed more bike riders stopping in while on their rides. I highly recommend visiting on a sunny day.
We had a pretty good lunch in Krindenhof: classic Swiss cuisine with a bit of research in presentation. Staff was efficient and friendly. It is worth to note that their menus are translated in English and French which is not really common in this area when you are not in touristic locations. The restaurant in 400 meters above the Thunersee which gives a wonderful view of the mountains on the south-western side of the lake. They also have a nice terrace that we were not able to enjoy due to the weather.
This is indeed a great place to have lunch or dinner during spring, summer and fall (closed during winter months). You have a beautiful view on the Bernese alps as well as the lake of Thun. The farmhouse is full of flowers and the manicured yard is the perfect setting for dinner outside. The menue has something for everybody but their specialty at all kind of ‘Rösti’ a type of home made hash browns. Definitely worth a visit.
The restaurant is kids friendly and has great view at Thun Lake. A little bit expensive, but this is Switzerland. The menu was not very diversified, mainly local dishes, but from a tasty point of view I think they are using local products.
This place closes for the winter. It has re-opened and what a pleasure to go back to thie wonderful place. The food was fresh and superb, the wine (even for Swiss red) was magnificent and the service simply perfect. We were a group of three and each one had the same comment...excellent. The location is great but, for me, the main attraction is the food and the people that run this place. There is no pretending here.....the place is run by really friendly people. Need to treat yourself? Go to the Krinden.
