It was our first visit to Rincon de la Victoria and only because we had a Grupon voucher for this restaurant. It was a busy Saturday lunchtime and this restaurant is obviously popular with the locals My starter was a smoked salmon and avocado salad followed by pork secreto and chips. Both were excellent and the chips some of the best I have had in a long time. Soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. My wife had a crepe for starters and duck for her main which were both good. Presentation was very different from the average restaurant using slates instead of plates. A very good meal and we would definitely return if in the area.
We thought we would try this restaurant after reading the reviews on trip advisor but the restaurant was very underwhelming and even though it said it was on the seafront there was a big building blocking the view. We had a drink and one tapas dish which was tasty but not enough to make us stay, despite the fact the tapas was free with the drinks.
With your drink you can get to choose a small tapa from a list which is usual as most places give olives , crisps or tapa of the house and could be something you may not like. Menu is a little bit different , local dishes with a twist. Portions are small but tasty. Good outlook onto the beach.
We visited for an evening meal having had coffee there on one of the days, slightly different take on tapas that does not really work. The staff were friendly but the actual food did not live up to expectation with pastry parcels and toast with toppings that were pretty tasteless. A visit to the toilets mid meal to find no tissue paper does little to improve your appetite. We ended up paying €47 which was our most expensive tapas meal of our break. A suggestion to get back to basics and concentrate on cleanliness before experimenting with alternates.
