Valentine’s day dinners in a restaurant are usually overpriced, chaotic, hurried and not even romantic. But at Chateau Rose we found world class cuisine served in the most elegant, romantic setting. From the beautifully appointed dining spaces with fresh flowers, the sound of breaking waves and a delightful pianist that played throughout the whole night, the evening was set from the get go. Freshly baked bread arrived promptly. A delicious tomato soup with goat cheese that was incredibly comforting and unpretentious, yet remarkably memorable. My husband hates tomatoes so I was ready to take over but he ate it all and he loved it. Our lobster appetizer had an intriguing mix of crunchy and soft with half melted brie. The tuna was perfectly seared and served with the most delicious potatoes and asparagus. Presentation was stunning. Desserts were very special: not sugary and not your usual take on classics: red velvet cake, cheesecake...but with sorbet with a touch of hibiscus sorbet. Brilliant! Real Chef and real Patissier in the kitchen. The waiters were all so charming, elegant and knowledgeable. I know it might sound like a clichè but this was the most romantic, love-filled restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. I know we were not the only ones who felt “the love” that permeates in the restaurant and this place (the Horned Dorset) in Rincon. A very special place!
My friend and I stayed at horned dorset and did not dinate in the restaurant what is to be expected. the ambiente is amazing (and old Spanish Hacienda ballroom over the sea view): marble floors, beautiful decoration, impeccable lighting and service! we decided to double and go for the chef tasting menus. 10 courses of amazement. also very well dimensioned; small and manageable. and the wine list! the list is super minimal, but seriously well cured! I have worked in the wine and food industry in santa barbara and in new york, and this place has just blown me away. from top to bottom – they pay for it, but not almost as much as in a big city, although the quality and presentation rivals every metropole experience. oh, and the cook is only 29.
Beautiful location on the promenade. superb appetizer and escape. the service is impeccable.
We spent here our Valentine's Day dinner and what a glorious tasty it was. the prefixe menu was a beautiful symphonic transition. the live Spanish gitarist was romantic with a perfect sound level. the decoration of the black and white mug floor is mixed with the red chandeliers, dark wooden and exquisite cutlery that could not have created a more beautiful Spanish experience. we will be back, many thanks to the poor of the waiter and waiter, which this really made the most romantic day for us.
