Trattoria San Giovanni - RIMINI

We stopped by this restaurant after a recommendation. Surprisingly, they are working even during the afternoon break. The inside decoration is quite vintage and relaxing and the restaurant is in a lively area. The chef is so welcoming and friendly. Last time we had black risotto (risotto al nero di seppie). It wasn't written in the menu but the chef had no problem to make it on demand. The chef said that it would take him sometime to prepare, because he likes to serve his food freshly cooked and dose not like to cook it a night before and heat it up, like many restaurants do. Although this seemed like an old school way of cooking for me, but it was a night-and-day difference in taste. The quantity was fine. I do not know if the price is considered as high or not (I paid 38 for two risotto dishes and two soda drinks). I was satisfied with the food and the experience.

We came to Trattoria San Giovanni to have the famous « Olive Ascolana », it’s typical for the Marche region nearby but this restaurant in Rimini also has them. Of course that is only a little appetizer but it really met our expectations. The food we had afterwards included several beef and pasta dishes and desert. All was very good with excellent, friendly service. This restaurant is not a tourist trap, it’s a really decent restaurant near the old city centre of Rimini. Don’t hesitate if you are in the neighborhood!

The pizza was delicious!!!! The waiter Edwar was super friendly. They brought the food quite fast. We will definitely recommend this restaurant!

I liked this restaurant very much. Very cosy, nice location. All food is homemade. Good wine list. Not touristic place. Plenty of local Italian people of different age. Staff is very welcoming.

Vera osteria. Cibo egregio e prezzi onesti. Super consigliato!
