There was only one waiter doing everything but he was very effective and attentive. My partner liked his beef carpaccio. My pizza was just average. There was a too-thick layer of rubbery cheese on it.
Restaurant Panorama is located in hotel Radisson Blu Daugava and has some nice views over the river of Riga. Restaurant itself is on the ground floor (you will also have breakfast there if you stay in the hotel) and I really would take the name of Panorama with a grain of salt. I went to have dinner there and first thing I noticed was that it was quite dim there (except far back you had more light). There were few people there and I sat on a quite nice and convenient sofa chair. As I was not very hungry I decided to stick with two courses and I am happy I did that. Partly because of the prices and partly because of the food itself. I started with Salmon tartar. Dish itself looked nice but it was hardly seasoned. Luckily there were salt and pepper mills on the table to tune it, but even that helped only so so. Overall 5/10 Main course was chicken curry. I expected nice and tender chicken with lots of spices but I was disappointed once more. Chicken was overcooked and there were practically no spices in a curry! Again I had to tune it myself as much as possible. I even go to the length of saying that it was worse out of two and it was 15 €!! 3/10 from me. Service was OK, nothing special and nothing to complaint 6/10. Atmosphere itself well it was too dark there and place itself would need some renovations 5/10. Problem is that when you stay at Radisson Blu Daugava you have practically few options to dine. Either take a taxi to the old town or eat at Panorama there is nothing really close to walk by. To summarize Panorama will get 4/10 for food, 5/10 for atmosphere and 6/10 for service, giving it a mere 15/10 overall. I would usually sum it up to be 3 star overall review but I just can`t do it as food was really poor and pricey! P.S. There is also a cake area, but I did only see few cakes to choose from.
The wine list is decent especially on the white side and the starters are well made, my medium-rare ribeye was unfortunately well-done and the potatoes could use some salt. At a cheaper place this would have been a solid four especially with the great service from Igors the waiter.
This restaurant in Radisson hotel Daugava offers excellent breakfast for its guests, the best, along with another Radisson, Latvia, of all Radissons in Riga. Very good choice of high-quality food, with the Latvian local food corner. Very good service, except one weekend in the middle of February, when other (temporary? staff worked, and worked very poorly: ALL three meals or drinks of my choice were not available on the counter, only empty trays, and our table was not cleaned up during our breakfast, as usually. Again, it happened only once during our stay.
We had a fantastic weekend with family in sunny and friendly Riga. We stayed at Radisson Blue Daugava hotel. it is really the heart of the town. We had a very delicious brunch with healthy smoothie and tasty homemade pancakes fir kids. Latvian corner with all fish delikateses was superb. We were very satisfied.
