Black Magic - Riga

The best place to try Black Balsam! This is a really special place where staff are in medieval dress and the history of the shop as a supposed apothecary comes to life! As we were trying balsam for the first time we got the original as well as the cream balsam. The cream was my favourite (like Bailey's) but I think trying the original is a must when visiting Riga! The waiter was funny, friendly and helpful, recommending things on the menu and sharing a few stories about the shop. Really great spot to get the full experience.

A nice café with a big seletion of truffles and other kinds of chocolate. They have a based their menu on the Riga Black Balsam, and you can find that in most of the things they serve up. They have cocktails as well. I liked how cozy and alternative this place was. It has a real vintage feeling and the waiters are also dressed that way. It's a perfect stop for a coffee in the afternoon.

Handmade chocolate, local hot and cold drinks. The most amazing is the design of this place. You literally feel like being in the medieval castle. Go for it, you won't regret it!

Brilliant, unique, traditional to Riga experience. Black Magic is coffe, Riga Balck Balsam and chocolate/ cake place. The bar is set out in medieval and alchemy insperide vibe- furniture, layout, employees matching the spirit. Feels like you are in some movie, back in time. Spacious enough to have safe, separate corner or table! They make Black Balsam cocktails so you should deffonitely try it. My suggestion is coffe with Black Balsam shot aside. If you decide to go for in-house-made chocolate products from Belgian cacao, it will be an additional pleasure. This place changes your mood to the good side, for sure!. Very professional, welcoming staff. We asked advice for good local restaurant,and the advice was great too! Cost-wise you pay approx. 15€ for hot black balsam drink+ coffee+ black bals shot. Fully satisfied and wish to return again!
