Sb's Lakeside Love Shack - Richmond

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for quite some time, but because of its popularity, I doubted the wait would be worth it. Finally, I decided to go, and as soon as I walked in, I found a spot at the bar right away! To sum it up, the blueberry pancakes were absolutely delicious, and the cheese grits were equally fantastic. The service was excellent as well. I will definitely be returning!

Since I’ve never seen this place without a line, I started with a cinnamon bun as an appetizer. My mom commented that my sandwich was enormous, but she had what amounted to two open-faced sandwiches, so I’m not sure her opinion counts, lol. I ended up bringing half of my sandwich home. I never would have thought to put cream cheese on eggs, but it was surprisingly delicious! Now I understand why there’s almost always a line here. Before I left, I picked up a few stickers and a magnet. The Barbie pink lemonade was delightfully glittery, and I loved that when I expressed my excitement about the edible glitter, they added it to my fruit as well! They probably don’t have time to do that for everyone all the time, but it was a lovely touch for my first visit. I’ll definitely be returning!

The sweet potato hash is absolutely amazing—a personal favorite of mine—but everything I've tasted here has been fantastic! There’s even an option to add edible glitter for just $1, which my daughter adored, and her side of fruit that accompanied her unicorn pancakes sparkled beautifully as well. One charming detail is the unique mugs they provide for hot drinks. This place is genuinely thoughtful, and they even host live music on some nights! It's easy to see why people keep coming back! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bar seating (with a wide array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails/mocktails). The layout can be a bit cramped, which might make accommodating a large group difficult (or you could face a long wait), but it’s perfect for smaller groups of 2-4 for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The service is exceptionally friendly, and I look forward to checking out their downtown location too! Highly recommended for anyone craving good food! Parking: There’s a small parking lot for the strip mall that tends to be quite full, with additional parking available behind it. Kid-friendliness: I haven’t seen many kids during my visits, but our daughter loved the unicorn pancakes, and they do have a children’s menu. Seating can be a bit tight, so maneuvering a stroller or car seat might be challenging, but the staff is very accommodating and likely to help out.
