Pupuseria El Salvadoreño - Richmond

We ordered the steak burrito and the birria platter, and both dishes were incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sauce that accompanied the shredded pork tacos was delicious. While I can’t speak to how authentic the food is, as this was my first experience with El Salvadoran cuisine, I can definitely say that if this is the true taste, I'm a fan!

The food is absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is nice, although it would benefit from some live music or similar entertainment. The service is satisfactory, but the number of customers often exceeds the capacity of the waitstaff. Overall, it's a great place to eat, and they offer drive-thru service. They are bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English. Food: 5/5.

We drove quite a distance from Williamsburg to visit this restaurant, and it was definitely worth the trip. I ordered the pan con pollo and requested that the bones be removed, which made it much easier to eat. I also received a side of broth, which was packed with flavor. Don’t miss out on the chicken and potato empanadas—they’re fantastic. If you want curtido with your meal, make sure to ask for it, as it's not included automatically. The carne asada with tortillas was delicious as well. Plus, the cebada drink was superb. Even though there was only one waitress, she did an outstanding job—very attentive and professional.

I stopped by to get a gift card for some friends who brag about this place send thet don't do gift cards. I didn't eat here either, but holy moly! It was PACKED with lots of happy looking hungry folk, so it appears to be delish!

The only reason this restaurant is getting 4 stars is simply because the Tres Leche cake I bought wasn’t that appealing however I haven’t eaten it yet..However! The Pan con Pollo … chefs kiss.It tasted just like it came from the mother land. Feels good to find authentic Salvadorian food.
