It's located in the marina at Point San Pablo Harbor, a bit of a ride but with amazing views of the bay. There is plenty to explore and even some art installations to check out on the grounds. The outdoor dining area is decorated with pirate and nautical treasures, and there was a live band playing nearby while we dined. I ordered the 2 meats and 3 sides platter, but was disappointed that all the meats were covered in BBQ sauce - I would have preferred it on the side. The BBQ itself was decent but not outstanding, a bit bland and the ribs seemed slightly undercooked. The prices were a bit high, but that was to be expected given the atmosphere and the costs of running a BBQ joint. I would recommend this place for those looking for an adventure, interested in pirate culture, not overly picky about their BBQ, and wanting to experience some of Northern California's unique charm to visitors. Overall, a fun time with good service and a great atmosphere. Food: 3, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.
The restaurant earns an extra star for its live music and the Burning Man art nearby. They offer plenty of veggie options for a BBQ place, although the veggie platter was served at room temperature. It would be nice if they could quickly heat up the food to make it seem fresher. A friend recommended the Portobello on cheese grits for vegetarians. It was a bit strange and awkward for a first-time visitor to have to order as soon as they walk in, and it's hard to see the menu while waiting in line. It's best to arrive early on weekends as the line can get quite long. The restaurant is dog-friendly and has a nice ambiance overall. Worth a visit, but the cold food was a letdown.
Located in a secluded area, this restaurant opens at 11am and often has a long line. The portobello dish was excellent, as were the beans and greens. Unfortunately, this place will be closing at the end of November.

This place is worth traveling to from Brentwood. The brisket was so moist and the sides are very good. My wife and our two kids really enjoy stopping here for the food and the atmosphere. The drive is a bit sketchy so use patience when driving it's narrow road. Both times we have been here there has been live music around noon. Perfect for a craft beer and an appetizer before lunch. I don't appreciate the tight parking but that is minor. Dogs are welcome.
