Don't expect to just walk in without a reservation unless you purposely want to sit at the 8 seat bar. On this night, 5 o'clock, there were only three tables of four. There was plenty of space to suit any smaller combination of the 12 chairs. There's a seating at 5, 7, and 9 PM (at least that's on the weekends). The one cocktail was good, but we mostly had beer and wine. Nothing special about that. The four of us decided to go with $35 app/entree/desert option over the a-la-carte. The appetizers of salmon and cucumber is good but teeny tiny. The bluefish app was better, but teeny tiny. The asparagus salad with baked ricotta and lemon was the winner. Creative and tasteful but also tiny. The bread that was presented was very, very good. It came with an apple purée on the side. That could be the highlight of the meal. The 5 oz sirloin was cooked beautifully with "cherry potatoes" over spinach leaves. The gravy was delicious. The chicken breast with spoon bread and spinach was good except the chicken was dry (over cooked). The turbot (fish) with garden peas was good. The pork duo was tasteful and the winner of our table of four. For dessert we enjoyed the strawberry pie, silk pie, and panna cotta. Go with the silk pie. It's a rich chocolate pie. It out shined the other two desserts we consumed. We mostly enjoyed the quaint dining area, rustic, mismatched furniture, low volume casual environment where we could talk and be heard. It was a very pleasant dining experience.
