Madhu's Brasserie Richmond

I had a really enjoyable evening with fantastic food. I hope the restaurant continues to do well!

I wasn't particularly impressed with my experience. The restaurant is small and cramped. We managed to get a table in the back, which was suitable for our group; however, if more tables had been occupied, it would have felt quite cramped. We ordered both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis, and everyone sampled the Malfy cooler cocktail. While the food and drinks were tasty and authentic, we were taken aback by the prices. We paid £45 per person for just one meal and one drink each. At that price, I would expect a full three-course meal. Madhus von Richmond really needs to consider offering a set menu or lowering their prices a bit. I wouldn’t return for a dine-in experience, but I might consider takeout.

Eat was good, but we were the only diners on Thursday night. the kitchen worked mostly on takeaways. our server seemed very inexperienced. the prices are very high.

Authentic Indian cuisine very beautifully presented. Tiny, cosy seating space, ideal for smaller groups intimate dining. Only bad point is that there is only 1.5 hours table time but the service is too slow to accommodate this, so you feel like you are rushed to eat really quickly once food arrives, as you need to leave within the time slot. For this reason, we had to go somewhere else for dessert which was a massive shame.

Although food was nice here this place is clearly not designed as a sit in restaurant and more of a take away. We were constantly badgered to finish our food and drinks by a certain time and server came over 4 times to clear our plates whilst we were still eating! The ambiance was not great, a very small seating area and prices are extortionate £18.95 for a butter chicken! , the server asked us to get up and pay while we were still finishing drinks and one of our guests had not received her food and so we cancelled our order. A very disappointing experience.
